CELEBRATE EARTH DAY
Join Freeport-McMoRan and celebrate Earth Day on Thursday, April 16, 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Invasive buffelgrass is more than just a nuisance; it actively displaces the native grasses, cacti, and trees that define the Sonoran Desert. To celebrate Earth Day 2026, join us to discover how managing this threat is vital for protecting biodiversity. You’ll learn how removing buffelgrass restores the critical habitats that native and migratory bats rely on for survival.
Location: Meet @ West Desert Trails entrance gate at Trail 340 and 337. From I-19 and Esperanza Blvd. drive west on Esperanza, turn right on North Desert Bel Dr, then turn left on Golden Desert Wy. The gate to West Desert Trails is at the end of Golden Desert Wy.
